Ever since reading Neuromancer, I had been fascinated with the Panther Moderns. I thought no group could be like this in real life.
I was wrong.
Meet Anonymous. They are actually pulling off raids in real life against targets like the Church of Scientology (speaking of whom are mentioned in Count Zero). www.warrenellis.com/
Right now, I'm grinning from ear to ear!

Re: The Panther Moderns
Tue, February 5, 2008 - 2:02 AMI too was fascinated by the Moderns, Chaos is our mode and modus...beautiful!
Ive been following the development of military camouflage since the discovery of 'mimetic polycarbon' in the story. The moderns need a further coverage, maybe a short story in a new 'Burning Chrome'.
Im about to start my Master's degree in Internet Studies and in a year or so, when the research phase comes up, I will be researching the capability, capacity and likelihood of such small groups having a social effect, even if it is for their own entertainment.. At the moment, I'm compiling a photolibrary of graffiti and tags, then using GIS software to follow the expansion/contraction of the territories of groups under watch. The big step will be presenting this info to the 'participants'.
Thanks for the link
Its good to find someone else interested in the Moderns.
