I just joined so hello.
I have made a shirt last night with a simple pattern and experimenting. I have had the resource of the net to help me with some techniques, but I need something more detailed like doing certain asymmetrical cuts, does anyone have any links, or helpful tips?

thanx

You do realize that you posted this in the Cyberpunk tribe and not in one of the Sewing or fashion-related tribes?

we seem to have run completely off the rails here in the last 48 hours...although i think we've had people in the past chatting about making cyberpunk costumes.

Yeah, that's how I read it. I was going to suggest the difficulty of looking futuristic but still keep it real enough to wear. Like the pocket-less jumpsuit problems of Star Trek...

yeah, the irony being that a true cyberpunk costume would be almost unnoticeable. some duct tape repair, the suggestion of an implant...blamo, you're done.

Maybe, you could go post-apocalyptic like Mad Max and decorate in early Used Tire.

No, It would be fun to look like that but I wouldn't be comfortable compleatly and its really hot where I live. I wish I could pin point the reference so people know what I am talking about. I tend to make my ideas too abstract thinking people can understand. But yeah,l post apocalyptic, new society after the destruction of man kind and reuniting technology with nature, new world, ..........

You could go with reshaped Samurai looking stuff... sticks of bamboo twined by thread. Extreme weave linnens that look like they could be thatching, etc. that could be fun...

yeah, I'm extreamly aware. Being that the type of clothing I design and like tend to lean towardswhat you would call the a more futuristic look. Since I have a vision I can hopefully share that with others.

Wow, I'm surprised. I didn't know how limited this group was in discussion. More along the lines ...its hard to describe since I don't think anyone would understand what I'm referring to on a creative sense. Not saying no one is creative, but I'm one for recycling all things I see that can be used ,handmaking, and not having 100+ for some awesome top that I what I like but isn't what I envision as something I could buy. Anyhow, never mind. Sorry to waste your time.

Yeah, K0n3ko -- what atom said is right.

You're welcome to post whatever you want here as long at it at least relates tangentially to the main topic -- that's the point of having tribes.

Throw us a frickin' bone! :)
