atom, did you see the German restoration they did on the film, which came out a few years ago? They did an amazing job at scraping together every last frame of the film they could find (including new footage found in Russia, if I remember correctly), and worked on it for something like seven years. They also did lots of wet-gate work to remove scratches from the print. It was far better than any other version I had ever seen.

With a copy of the actual director's cut in hand, this ups the ante. We're finally going to see it as Lang intended; even restorations had to do some guesswork as to the order of certain shots.

Oh, and can we please burn all copies of that horrible '80s abortion with the bad music and tinted frames?
